About the role
Every day, leading e-commerce companies generate vast amounts of behavioural data, but turning that data into actionable insights remains slow and complex. That’s what we’re changing.

At Bubbi, we’re building an AI platform that understands data, reasons about it, and helps businesses make smarter decisions. As a Data Scientist, you’ll join us at an early stage and play a key role in shaping BubbiQ. Developing the underlying architecture to the AI capabilities that will redefine how businesses interact with data.

Working at the intersection of AI Engineering, Data Engineering and Product Development, you’ll help build production AI systems using the latest technologies while solving real problems for real customers.

What you’ll do

• Develop next-generation analytics solutions for modern e-commerce businesses.
• Build AI-powered workflows using Google Vertex AI, Claude and Google ADK.
• Extend FastAPI services that securely expose customer analytics and KPI data.
• Desig and optimise SQL transformations in BigQuery.
• Build and develop the contextual knowledge layer that enables AI agents to understand each customer’s unique data model.
• Structure metadata, documentation and semantic context that improve AI reasoning and response quality.
• Continuously improve how AI interprets changing customer datasets.
• Build observability through logging, monitoring, metrics, alerts and quality assurance.
• Monitor product quality after releases and improving reliability over time.
• Validate behavioural tracking across web and mobile platforms.
• Develop automated data pipelines and ensuring long-term data quality.
• Collaborate on new AI product capabilities, usability improvements and customer-facing features.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an exceptionally curious engineer with a strong technical foundation and an ambition to build products using the latest AI technologies.

You don’t need years of experience, we’re far more interested in how quickly you learn.

Minimum qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related technical discipline, supported by a strong academic track record.
• Strong Python skills, including pandas.
• Comfortable writing and understanding SQL.
• Experience using AI coding assistants productively while maintaining a healthy verification mindset.
• Basic understanding of APIs, Git and modern software engineering.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to have:
Experience with technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, FastAPI, Docker, Cloud Run or PostgreSQL is a plus, as is exposure to modern AI tooling including Vertex AI, Claude, Google ADK or other LLM frameworks.

We’re also interested in experience with data modelling, observability, semantic layers, experimentation, event tracking or building reliable data platforms. Most importantly, we’re looking for people who aren’t afraid to tackle unfamiliar challenges.
